Maintenance Technician

1st Shift, Multiple Locations, Full-Time, $25-30/hour (BOE)

Job Summary

Perform mechanical, electrical, and preventative maintenance on all production and facility equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures operation of CNC machinery such as press brakes, lathes, and mills by completing preventive maintenance requirements as establishes by manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Inspect, operate, or test CNC and manual machinery or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and initiate repairs as required.
  • Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
  • Performs repairs to hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components.
  • Maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and physical structure of all production facilities.
  • Measure, cut, and install wiring and conduit.
  • Install and configure electrical equipment.
  • Follow electrical blueprints and schematics.
  • Troubleshoot or replace electrical and mechanical components as needed.
  • Install, repair, and inspect various industrial electrical machinery and systems.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshooting for electrical and mechanical components.

Non-Essential Duties

  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Provides communication to production on potential equipment problems that could negatively affect operations.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educations workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with OSHA regulations and company procedures and rules.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of 3 phase power systems.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings.
  • Knowledge of national, state, and local electrical codes and regulations.
  • Able to follow directions and perform repetitive maintenance tasks.
  • Technical understanding of maintenance concepts and practices.
  • Able to quickly change focus and priority from one issue to the next based on needs of the production floor.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Basic writing and math skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and CMMS software.

Experience and Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
